Rules and Conditions
1) Except in floral art, young persons’ section, or where otherwise
indicated in the programme, all exhibits must have been grown or made
by the exhibitor, amateur status only. Entries may be made on behalf
of another person. The term grown will be taken to mean produced from
seed, bulb, corm, slip or transplant and nurtured by the exhibitor for
a period of at least two months prior to the date of the exhibition.
A pot plant will be deemed to have been grown if acquired and nurtured
by the exhibitor for the same length of time.
2) Except in floral art or young persons’ classes, no person may
submit more than three entries in any one class.
3) There will be a charge of 25p for each entry made in any class.
4) Trophies will be awarded as follows:
Drumbeg Residents’ Association Flower Cup -
Best exhibit in the Show excluding Young Persons’ classes.
Drumbeg Cup - Best exhibit in Young Persons’
section.
Drumbeg Vegetable Cup - Best Fruit or Vegetable.
Mark Crowe Cup - Floral Art
Rose of Drumbeg - Special Class Prize
DRA Jubilee Cup - Judge’s choice from the non
cup winners.
The Farris Cup - Best in Home Baking and Preserves.
5) Certificates will be awarded for first place in each Class.
6) The Judge’s decision shall be final.
7) All exhibits to be staged between 10:00 am and 12 noon. Judging to
commence at 12 noon.
8) No person other than the judge and the committee appointee required
by him for administration purposes shall be in the Hall whilst judging
is taking place.
9) Classes are numbered serially throughout.
Cards will be provided for each exhibit entered, and exhibitors are
responsible for completing the card as required, where possible naming
the variety of the item entered and staging the exhibit in the proper
class.
10) The Exhibition Hall will be open at 2.00 pm for public viewing of
exhibits and will remain open until 4.00 pm.
11) The Committee will take every precaution to ensure safe keeping
of exhibits, but neither the Committee, the Association nor the Church
Authorities will accept any responsibility for loss or damage to exhibits
or be liable for any compensation in respect of exhibits or personal
property, lost, damaged, stolen etc.
12) Exhibitors are asked to cooperate by leaving exhibits in place until
3:30 pm.
13) Eligibility to exhibit is restricted to Residents and Members of
Local Clubs and Societies.
